Everett Eugene Sorenson was born September 15, 1940 in Bagley, Minnesota to parents Aksel and Anna Adeline Hartmann Sorenson. He had brothers Dale and Gary and sisters Shirley, Jean and Joan. He attended Ebro School for elementary and graduated from Bagley High School in 1958.

He entered the U.S. Army on May 11, 1960. He was a specialist attached to Company B, 2^nd Battalion, 13^th Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged on April 23, 1963.

He married Mary J. Courtney in January of 1966. They had children LaVone and Shawn. Everett owned and operated several area businesses including the Shell Service Station, the Drift-Inn, and Sorenson Motors.

Everett died on September 2, 2019 and is buried in Bagley City Cemetery.
