Allen Matthew Theis was born October 24, 1936 in Bagley to  parents John and Irene Theis. He grew up in Bagley and attended District 1B, Minnow Lake country school. He graduated from Bagley High School in 1954.

Allen joined the Army National Guard on December17, 1958 and was sent to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for basic training. He attended further schooling to be an Armor Intelligence Specialist. He was attached to the 2nd Battalion, 136th Infantry Division. Allen received an honorable discharge on December 16, 1964. 

Allen passed away on July 1, 2011 and is buried in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Bagley.
