Arlyn David “Buck” Ness was born December 5, 1937 in Clearbrook to Melvin and Hilma Lindom Ness. He grew up in the Clearbrook, Fosston, McIntosh and Bagley areas. He graduated from Bagley High School in 1956.

Buck enlisted in the Air Force on January 17, 1957. He served with the 380th Field Maintenance Squadron (SAC). Buck received an honorable discharge on February 18, 1959.

Buck passed away on August 30, 2014 and is buried in Silver Creek Cemetery near Clearbrook.
