Brenton “Brent” Douglas Higdem was born June 19, 1947 in Bagley, Minnesota to Myrtle and Arnold Higdem. He grew up in Bagley and attended Bagley Elementary School and Bagley High School, graduating in 1965. He entered the military on August 6, 1967. His long military career spanned stints in the U.S. Navy, the North Dakota National Guard, the U.S. Army Reserve and the U.S. Army and the ratings of Yeoman (Navy), Medical Specialist – Flight Medic/ Critical Care Nurse.
He received his basic training at Great Lakes, Illinois and Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
He was stationed at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas, Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, Landstuhl, Germany, and did three stints in the Republic of Vietnam.
Brent was attached to VT-25/ 141st Engr Bn/ 142 Air Ambulance/ 311 Evac Hospital/ 810 Station Hospital / 94th Field Hospital and the 94th Combat Support Hospital.
He was discharged on December 6, 2003 and lives at 86 Shoshoni Drive in Sherwood, Arkansas. He plans to be buried at the Veterans Cemetery North, Little Rock, Arkansas.
