Carl Larsen Rauk – (1898-1922) – US ARMY veteran who is buried in the Shevlin Cemetery, Shevlin, MN. His tombstone is labeled Minnesota Pvt S.A.T.C. Concordia College. Student Army Training Corp was the early version of ROTC. They were considered on “active duty” and Pvt Carl Rauk entered into the service in Sept 1918, he could be considered a World War I veteran. In December 1918, after the war had ended, it was disbanded, but it still was considered military service. He was the son of Lars and Tilda Rauk of Shevlin who had lost their son Arne Rauk serving in WWI in October 1918 when he died of disease.
