Cecil Sutherland

Cecil Willard Sutherland was born September 20, 1916 in Keeline, Wyoming to Joseph and Anna Day Sutherland. He lived in Keeline until he was 16 years old, then moved to Bagley. He attended Bagley High School.

Cecil enlisted in the Army on June 11, 1941 and was sent to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for basic training. He was then sent for advanced training to San Luis Obispo, California. He saw duty in the Pacific Theater, including the Hawaiian Islands, the Marshall Islands and the Palau Islands and Peleliu. He served with the 111th Infantry Regiment. Cecil received an honorable discharge on November 21, 1945.

Cecil passed away on December 14, 2002 and is buried in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
