Clifford Toye Bergland – (1890-1970) – US ARMY veteran (1918-1919) who served during World War I and is buried in the Silver Creek Cemetery, Clearbrook, MN. Pvt Clifford Bergland was the son of Torger and Thilda Bergland of Iowa and came to the Clearbrook area after WWI. He married Sophia Hedberg in Leonard in 1922, and they moved into Clearbrook where they remained for the rest of their lives. Clifford was appointed to be the Clearbrook Postmaster in 1934, and served in that position for many years.
