Dale C. Lebeda
Dale C. Lebeda was born October 3, 1926 in Wast Portal, Colorado to William and Elna Lebeda. Dale moved to Minerva Township, Minnesota at a young age and attended elementary school at Minerva. He attended Bagley High School.
He enlisted in the Navy on November 1, 1944 and was sent to the Naval Training Center at Farragut, Idaho for basic training. He took basic engineering at the Naval Training Center at Gulfport, Mississippi. He was stationed aboard the USS Renshaw (DD 499), a Fletcher class destroyer, during WWII. On Navy Day, October 27, 1945 President Harry S Truman reviewed the greatest victory parade in naval history from the Renshaw in New York Harbor.
Dale was honorably discharged as a Fireman Second Class on July 12, 1946.
Dale died on March 25, 2019 and is buried in the Minerva Township Cemetery.
