Dean M. Fredrickson was born August 20, 1951 in Bagley to Ken and Bea Fredrickson. He grew up in the Bagley/Alida area and graduated from Bagley High School in 1969.

Dean enlisted in the Army in August, 1971 and was sent to Fort Lewis, Washington for basic training. He attended advanced training to be a diesel mechanic at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was subsequently stationed with the 508th Service Company at at Kaiserslautern, Germany and with the 17th Engineer Battalion 2AD at Fort Hood, Texas.

He received an honorable discharge in August of 1979.

Dean passed away and is buried in Alida Cemetery.
