Dennis E. Lofthus

Dennis E. Lofthus was born September 16, 1945 in Bagley, Minnesota to Elmer and Josie Wedwick Lofthus. He grew up on the family farm in Eddy Township along with his brother Leslie. His father Elmer was a WWII vet with a Purple Heart.  He married Mary Berry on May 9, 1970 in Bagley.

Dennis graduated from Bagley High School in 1963 and entered the Army October 21, 1965. He took basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and further training at  Polk, Louisiana. He was sent to South Vietnam as a light weapon infantryman with the 2nd Battalion of the 1st Infantry Division. Dennis was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received during combat.  He was honorably discharged on October 20, 1967.

 

Dennis presently lives in Bagley.
