Donald James Tobkin

Donald James Tobkin was born on January 13, 1939 in Perham, MN. He was the first born to parents James Tobkin and Dorothy Mary (Rohr) Tobkin. His family lived north of Perham, MN.

In August 1944, his family moved to a farm in Holmesville Township, Becker County, northeast of Detroit Lakes, MN.

Donald attended grade school in District 57, a one room rural school two miles from their farm. He went on to the Detroit Lakes High School in the fall of 1952, and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1957.

Donald entered the US Air Force in November 1957. He was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX, for basic training. After basic training, he was assigned to Francis E. Warren Air Force Base, at Cheyenne, WY, for further training.

After his further training was completed, Donald was assigned to Wiesbaden Air Force Base, west of Frankfurt, Germany. Donald was separated from Active Duty in October 1961. Donald later served in the Air Force Reserve.

Donald went on to earn a teaching degree at Minnesota State University Moorhead, MN.

Donald resides northeast of Detroit Lakes, MN.
