Elton C. Sorenson was born December 17, 1933 in Falk Township to Bennie and Helen Sorenson. He grew up in the Bagley area and attended Nora Township District 9 School and Bagley High School. 

Elton entered the Army on December 29, 1954 and was sent to Fort Riley, Kansas for basic training. He received advanced artillery training at Fort Riley as well.

After training he was sent to Germany with Battery A, 43rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion as an anti-aircraft air wing crewman sharpshooter. He received an honorable discharge on December 5, 1956. 

Elton presently lives in Bagley.
