Eric S. Sandland was born January 16, 1970 to parents Steve Olson and Jewell Egeland Sandland. He grew up in Bagley and Clearbrook and attended school in Clearbrook. He graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1988.

Eric entered the Army on October 3, 1991 and was sent to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for basic training. After training he was stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington as a mechanic. He is still in the Army and presently lives in McConna, Washington.
