Eugene Lyle Hanson was born September 29, 1945 in Bagley, Minnesota to parents Norris and Lillian Hanson. He grew up in Shevlin and attended elementary school in Shevlin. He graduated from Bagley H.S. in 1963.

Eugene entered the Air Force on January 13, 1966 and was sent to Lackland Air Force Base in Texas for basic training. He took advanced training in Amarillo, Texas to be a materiel facilities specialist. He was stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska with the 21st Supply Squadron.

Eugene currently resides in Bemidji.
