Eugene Melvin Charles – (1922-1983) – US ARMY veteran (1944-1945) who served in World War II (Wounded in Action) and is buried at Green Crest Memorial Park, Sheridan, Oregon. Pvt Eugene Charles was the son of Elmer and Myrtle Charles of Sinclair Township, Clearwater County, MN and was the husband of Violet (Johnson) Charles who he married in 1942 in Clearbrook, MN. After the war he moved out to Oregon.
