Gilmer Gulbranson

Gilmer Bennet Gulbranson  was born August 19, 1893 in Fosston, Minnesota to Elling and Aase Gulbranson. He grew up near Leonard, Minnesota. 

He was inducted into the Army at Stanley on May 24, 1918 and was sent to Camp Lewis, Washington for basic training.  He served in 8th Company, 2nd Battalion, 166th Depot Brigade until June 17, 1918, then in Company F, 157th Infantry until Sept. 15, 1918, and then served in Company C, 110th Infantry overseas to May 11, 1919 where his company was engaged in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He was slightly wounded on September 29th, 1918. He was discharged at Camp Dodge, Iowa on May 24, 1919. 

He died June 5, 1978 and is buried in Norway Lake Cemetery near Leonard.
