GM1 Harry Thomas Flaws

Harry Thomas Flaws was born February 26, 1920 in Bear Creek Township to John and Margaret Flaws. He grew up around the Alida community and attended primary school at the Flaws School in Bear Creek Township. He graduated from Bagley High School in 1940.

Harry entered the Navy on February 18, 1942 and was sent to Great Lakes Naval Training Center for boot camp. He attended advanced training in the ordnance field at Norfolk, Virginia and eventually reached the rank of Gunner’s Mate First Class. He received his honorable discharge from the Navy on January 11, 1946 after the war. Harry died July 14, 1999 and is interred in Bagley City Cemetery.
