Harvey Winton Bergquist was born June 19, 1933 in Shevlin to John and Marie Bergquist. He grew up in Bear Creek Township and attended elementary school at Bear Creek. He graduated from Bagley High School in 1951.

Harvey entered the Air Force in 1953. He was sent to Japan for duty. He was an Airman 1st Class when he received an Honorable Discharge in 1957.

Harvey passed away November 2, 2012 and is buried in the Clearwater Lutheran Cemetery in Shevlin.
