Henry E. Dahlke
Henry “Hank” Ernest Dahlke was born June 22, 1916 in Holst Township to Emil and Christine Dahlke. He grew up in the Clearbrook area and attended Happy Hollow School in Holst Township.
Hank entered the U.S. Army on June 15, 1942. He served in Iceland with HQ Co, England in 1944 with the 101st Replacement Battalion (Infantry), then was sent to combat in Germany on January 15, 1945 with Company A. He received an honorable discharge on November 6, 1945.
Hank took over the family farm in Dudley Township and farmed until his death on June 1, 1983. He is buried in Silver Creek Cemetery near Clearbrook.
