Herbert Carlson

Herbert Carlson was born August 3, 1928 in Brainerd to John and Jessie Carlson. He grew up in the Brainerd area and graduated from Brainerd High School in 1946.

Herbert entered the Army National Guard in 1950 and was sent to Fort Rucker in Mobile, Alabama for basic training. He received further training as a cook at Fort Lawton, Washington. He was then sent to Korea with the 194th Tank Battalion. Herbert received an honorable discharge in 1953.

Herbert passed away February 7, 2014 and is buried in Fort Snelling, Minneapolis.
