Herbert Klevstad
Herbert Klevstad – (1896-1918) – US ARMY veteran that died of disease (4 Oct 1918) during World War 1 and is buried in Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Eddy Township, Clearwater County, MN. PVT Herb Klevstad was the son of Thor and Ragnheld Klevstad and lived in Eddy Township. He registered for the draft in Bagley, MN on June 5th, 1918 and was sent to Camp Hancock in Augusta, Georgia for 16 weeks of basic training the summer of 1918. On October 1st, 1918, within two hours, over 747 men came down with the Spanish Flu, and he died of it three days later.
