Iver Gunderson
Iver John Gunderson was born December 20, 1931 in Reliance, South Dakota to Gust and Emma Gunderson. He attended elementary school in Pequot Lakes for three years then moved to a farm in LaPrairie Township near Bagley where he attended District 28A school.
Iver entered the Army on August 19, 1952 and was sent to Fort Bliss, Texas for basic training. After advanced training in Fort Bliss he was sent to Tachikawa Air Force Base in Japan as the squad leader of a Quad 50 anti-aircraft machine gun squadron, 32nd Battalion AAA. He served on active duty until July 28, 1954, then on standby reserve until July 31, 1960 when he received an honorable discharge.
Iver currently lives in Bagley.
