James L. Olsen

James L. Olsen was born August 25, 1946 in Minneapolis to Chester and Gladys Olsen. He grew up in South Minneapolis and attended elementary school at Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis in 1964.

James joined the Army on December 6, 1965 and was sent to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for basic training. He took advanced training  at Fort Sill, Oklahoma before being sent to Vietnam as a field artillery operations and intelligence assistant with the 1st Battalion, 40th Artillery. He received an honorable discharge on September 15, 1967.

James currently resides in Bagley.
