John Brendalen – (1924-2022) – US ARMY veteran (1944-1946) who served during World War II and is buried in Elim Cemetery, Clearbrook, MN. Pvt John Brendalen was the son of Kristian and Helga Brendalen who had immigrated from Norway when John was four years old. They eventually settled on a farm in Leon Township, Clearwater County, MN. He was the husband of June (Gunderson) Brendalen who together moved back to the Clearbrook area around 1960.
