Joseph “Joe” Hromidko
Joseph “Joe” Hromidko was born near Bagley on August 31, 1921 to Joseph and Mary Hromidko. He grew up south of Bagley and attended Bagley school.
Joe joined the Army on November 16, 1942 and was sent to Camp Adair, Oregon for basic and advanced infantry training. He was a Browning Automatic Rifle Rifleman. Following training, Joe was sent to the European Theater with F Company, 414 Infantry Regiment, 104th Timberwolf Division, where he was wounded in action at the start of the Battle of the Bulge. He was honorably discharged on October 31, 1945 from Brook Hospital in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Joe passed away on September 24, 1995 and is buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bagley.
