Lester Beck’s Honorable Discharge papers from  the National Guard and the Navy Seabees

Lester E. Beck was born August 21, 1938 in Hatton, North Dakota to Lewis and Evelyn Beck. He grew up in the Hatton area and attended elementary and high school there. He graduated in May, 1956.

Lester had joined the National Guard in 1955 and was a private with the 816th Engineer Company (light equipment). He received an honorable discharge from the Guards in May of 1956 so that he could join the Navy. 

Lester was sent to Great Lakes, Illinois for training and to Port Huaneme, California for Seabee training. Additional Seabee training was taken at the Davisville Construction Battalion Center in Rhode Island for instruction in construction and fighting. After that he was sent to different locations overseas until his discharge in January of 1962. He presently lives with his wife Pearl between Bagley and Shevlin.
