Marion R. Beaver was born May 14, 1912 in Iowa to William Henry and Tilda Mae Rasmussen Beaver. His family moved near Bagley to farm some time before 1940. 

Marion entered the Army on March 20, 1942. He served with the tank destroyer artillery in Africa, marching with General Patton. His unit was declared missing in action for 9 months because they marched so fast supplies couldn’t keep up with them.  He received an honorable discharge at war’s end on October 4, 1945.

Marion passed away May 25, 1968 and is buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Co.
