Milo Hromidko

Milo Hromidko was born August 12, 1930 in Copley Township to Joseph and Mary Hromidko. He grew up south of Bagley and attended Bagley schools. He graduated from Bagley High School in 1950. 

Milo entered the Air Force on November 28, 1958 and was sent to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He received advanced training on warehouse procedures  at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, Colorado. After training he was transferred to James Connelly Air Force Base at Waco, Texas. His duties there were NCOIC of the base commissary, training new employees how to manage a commissary. After 1 1/2 years he was transferred to Laredo, Texas to help re-open an old Army commissary and cold storage area and to issue goods to dining halls as needed. 

Following his stint in Laredo he was transferred to Suwon, Korea where his duties were to supervise seven dining halls. In 1955 he was transferred to Backler Air Force Base at Columbia, Indiana where he was honorably discharged on November 28, 1955.

In March, 1957 Milo re-enlisted in the USAF and was assigned to the 343rd Fighter Interception Squadron in Duluth, Minnesota. While at Duluth has was a member of their drum and bugle corps. He stayed at Duluth for almost two years, then was sent to Ellison Air Base, Fairbanks, Alaska. While at Duluth and Ellison his duties were processing merchandise purchased, local inspection of goods and processing the documents to pay for the items purchased.

From Alaska Milo was sent to the Air Training Command, Webb Air Force Base at Big Spring, Texas. He was assigned to the research department where he converted part numbers to military stock numbers. Later he converted the part numbers of items loaded into the RAMAL Computer System. He also taught students warehousing procedures. 

After five years he was transferred to Davis Monthan Air Force Base by Tucson, Arizona. His last five years of duty were spent and Clark Air Force Base, Philippines. He retired as a Tech Sergeant at Davis Monthan Air Base with an honorable discharge. 

Milo passed away August 23, 2020 in Tucson and is buried at South Lawn Cemetery there.
