Obert Friborg was born June 15, 1925 in Bagley to Reinhardt and Inga Einevoll Sackett Friborg. He grew up in the Bagley area and attended Bagley schools.
Obert enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944. He served aboard the USS NOA (DD-841) and saw duty in mainly the South Pacific. He was discharged in 1946.
After discharge Obert went to Alaska and worked road construction. He was a grader operator for many years and was often referred to as the “best blade man in the state.” He married Coral Hanson in 1952 and they settled in Fairbanks in 1956. Oscar passed away in Fairbanks at age 90 and is buried in the Northern Lights Memorial Cemetery in Fairbanks.
