Orville Richard Gubrud was born June 20, 1935 in Bagley to Carl and Aletta Gubrud. He grew up in the Bagley area and attended Bagley schools.

Orville entered the Army in August of 1957. After training at Fort Riley, Kansas he was attached to the 1st Infantry Division, better known as “The Big Red One.” He received an honorable discharge in August of 1959.

Orville passed away on March 21, 2014 and is buried in Bagley City Cemetery.
