Richard Wallace Stinar was born January 10, 1936 in Ebro (Falk Township) to Andrew and Edna Erickson Stinar. He grew up in Ebro and attended school there

Richard enlisted in the Navy on August 3, 1953 and became a Radio Operator. He was stationed aboard the destroyer USS O’Bannon (DDE-450.) Richard received the Korean Service Medal, the China Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He received an honorable discharge on December 20, 1956.

Richard passed away in April of 1996 and is buried in Poplar Lake Cemetery near Lengby.
