Rodney “Rod” Staehnke was born November 8th, 1938 in Clearbrook to Edward and Edythe Staehnke. He grew up and attended school in the Clearbrook area. He graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1957.

Rod enlisted in the Army in 1962 and was sent to Fort Carson, Colorado for basic training. He attended advanced training in engineering at Fort Walters, Texas. He was stationed for duty at Fort Walters as well. Rod was honorably discharged in November of 1963.

He presently lives in Bagley.
