Ronald C. Sutherland was born June 16, 1948 in Bagley to Cecil and Viola Bilbrey Sutherland. He grew up in the Bagley area and graduated from Bagley High School in 1966.

Ronald enlisted in the Army in 1968 and was sent to Fort Lewis, Washington for basic training. He attended AIT training at Fort Lewis as well. After training, Ronald was sent to Pleiku, Vietnam with the 12th Infantry Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Infantry Division. He was wounded in action and medically discharged from Fitzsimon’s Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado in 1970.

Ronald passed away on September 1, 2004 and is buried in Lutsen, Minnesota.
