Steve “Ole” Olson was born January 20, 1948 at Bagley to Almer and Vivian Olson. He grew up in Gonvick and Bagley and graduated with  the Bagley High School class of 1966. 

Steve enlisted in the delayed entry program of the Marine Corps on January 27, 1965. He was sent to San Diego for basic training and Camp Pendleton, California for advanced training.  After training he was sent to Dong Ha, a Marine Corps and Army base northwest of Quang Tri in central Vietnam. He was a truck driver with the 3rd Marine Division. Steve received an honorable discharge on January 27, 1969.

Steve presently divides his time between Bagley and Mesa, Arizona.
