Steven D. Bergquist was born February 20, 1949 in Bagley to Reuben and Lillian Bergquist. He grew up in Bagley and attended Bagley schools. He graduated from Bagley High School in 1967. 

Steven enlisted in the Marine Corps on February 25, 1969 and was sent to Marine Corps Recruitment Depot at San Diego, California. He received further training in freight operations at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. After training he was stationed in Camp Pendleton, California with H & S Co., H & S Bn., 5th FSR, FMF as an administrative assistant. Steven was honorably discharged on November 25, 1970.

Steven presently lives in Billings, Montana.
