Steven W. Lebeda was born December 17, 1951 in Bemidji to Joe and Joyce Lebeda. He grew up in the Bagley area and attended elementary school in Minerva Township. He graduated from Bagley High School in 1970.

Steven joined the Navy in June of 1970 and was sent to RTC San Diego for boot camp. He then attended Naval Corps School in San Diego, California. After training he was stationed at Bremerton, Washington from 1971-1973 and with the 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Force Service Regiment in Okinawa, Japan from 1973-1974 as a hospital corpsman. He received an honorable discharge on March 20, 1974.

Steven currently resides in Bremerton, Washington.
