Victor Leroy (Roy) Miller

Victor Leroy Miller was born on February 21, 1914 on the family farm in Nora Township, Clearwater County, to parents Arthur and Pearl Stetler Miller. He was known by his middle name or just “Roy.”  He had sisters Ruth and Doris and brothers Oscar, Howard, Leon, Delbert, Chester and Dayle. He attended elementary school in Nora Township.

He was 26 when he registered for the draft in October of 1940 and working for Leslie Nasecka of Ogema. He was 5’7” tall, 140 lbs., with gray eyes and brown hair.

He enlisted in the Army on July 30, 1942 and was sent to Camp McCoy, Wisconsin for basic training. He was trained to be a surgical ward attendant. After training he was sent to Normandy in Northern France. He was discharged on October 13, 1945.

Roy died on October 15, 1994 and is buried in Nora Township Cemetery.
