Arnold Crandall
Arnold W. Crandall was born March 7, 1922 in Ponsford, Minnesota to Bill and Florence Stearn. He grew up in the Pine Point area and attended elementary school there.
Arnold entered the Army on February 11, 1944 at Fort Snelling. He was sent to Fort Sheridan, Illinois for training and then to Central Europe where he specialized in rifle combat. He received an honorable discharge on May 23, 1946. He was awarded a Bronze Star for meritorious or heroic service in a combat zone.
Arnold owned Crandall’s Sporting Goods store in Bagley. He passed away on February 17, 2011 and is buried in Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in rural Bagley.
