Carl W. Dahlke Jr. was born June 23, 1948 in Bagley Hospital to Carl W. and Mabel Dahlke. He grew up in the Bagley area and graduated from Bagley High School in 1966.

Carl entered the Army in April of 1968 and was sent to Fort Lewis, Washington for basic training. He received advanced training in Infantry in Fort Lewis as well. Following training he was sent to Pleiku, Vietnam, a location in the Central Highlands with Company B, 4th Infantry Division. A month before his honorable discharge in March of 1970 Carl was sent to Fort McClellan, Alabama for duty.

Carl currently lives in St. Francis, Minnesota.
