Ernest Coyle was born May 31, 1930 in Westerheim, North Dakota to parents George and Josie Coyle.  He grew up in Shevlin, Minnesota and attended school in Shevlin until the 8th grade. 

Ernest entered the Army in 1952 at Fort Snelling and after training in California as a cook was sent to Korea. He was discharged in 1955.

Ernest died October 30, 1992 and is buried in Clearwater Lutheran Cemetery in Shevlin.
