Roger L. Dukek was born January 10, 1954 in Bagley to Lester and Freda Beaver Dukek. He grew up in the Bagley area and attended Bagley schools. He graduated from Bagley High School in 1972.

Roger enlisted in the Navy in 1972. He specialized in air wing ejection systems. He was first stationed aboard the USS Saratoga, an aircraft carrier. He then served aboard the USS Hancock, whose home base was LeMoore Naval Air Station in California. During the Vietnam War he assisted in boarding refugees to the Philippines in the South China Sea aboard VFN 212. He was honorably discharged in 1976.

Roger passed away December 27, 2012.
